Meet Lekeasha Parker: the Most Valuable Employee (MVE) winner for our Returns and Inventory Control Department. Time at FSIoffice: Almost 3 years
What do you love most about what you do and about working at FSIoffice in general?
It may seem like the same thing as far as processes, but there is something different each day. Plus I work with some pretty cool people.
Tell us about your job position and some of your typical work tasks.
Inventory Control/Quality Control. My typical day consists of completing cycle counts, investigating hand edits, shortage research, warehouse errors and back-order product inventory, processing Purchase Order receipts, updating inventory, ensuring selected order tickets are checked through our FSI quality control process, completing reports and compiling data for the Inventory Control department.
What has been your favorite project or task at FSIoffice?
Believe it or not, Carolina Biological and AOC QC.
Before working at FSI, what was the most unusual or interesting job you have had?
Hmm, none really unusual. I think my most interesting job was working at a high school in NE Washington DC as a Registrar. It allowed me the opportunity to see in to the lives of kids/parents that many read about. Deepened my desire to help people.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you “grow up”?
A lawyer – (ended up working as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal)
What is on your bucket list?
I’d really love to visit the rain forest in South America (Brazil), visit Fiji and visit Australia.
What is your favorite thing to do in the wonderful city of Charlotte?
Eat! Charlotte has grown to have some of the best diverse restaurants with vast menu selections. So many in the Plaza Midwood (Central Ave)/Noda/Southend areas.
Who is your favorite musician/musical group?
I don’t have a favorite, but currently listening to a lot of Khalid, Dermont Kennedy, Bad Bunny & Danny Ocean.
What are some of your favorite TV shows, movies, and/or books?
My all-time favorite book is “A Child Called It.” Reading that book increased my desire to help others. Not really into many TV shows or movies, however my all-time favorite movie is the original Grease!
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
PIZZA!!
What are some of your favorite activities and interests outside of work?
Cooking for family and friends, traveling, attending different types of festivals, art shows, browsing antiques.
What’s a miscellaneous fun fact about you?
I’m Pescatarian, trying to stick to a vegetarian diet. I also enjoy watching old school cartoons like The Smurfs & Tom & Jerry.
What more can you tell us about yourself?
I enjoy Yoga every day, Running when I make time, spending time with my family & friends as much as possible, reading when I make time, dancing to any type of music any time and the beach any time.
