Teacher of the Week is BACK!

TOW Banner-Nominate only-Aug 10th

Do you know a deserving teacher in your community?

We have partnered with the Carolina Panthers to honor and recognize outstanding educators in our region. Each week, from the start of the regular season through the Panthers Dec. 11th game, a teacher who makes a difference in the lives of our young people will be honored. Participate by voting each week from the list of nominees.

All nominees will receive a gift pack (limit 1 per teacher). Weekly winners will receive a gift basket full of classroom supplies and tickets to the Panthers Dec. 11th home game. Winners will be posted on fsioffice.com/tow and recognized, with the Teacher of the Year, at the game.

Join us in saying, “Thank You” to exceptional educators.

Nominations start on Aug. 10th!

Top 3 Dirtiest Places In Your Office

Surprisingly so, approximately 97 percent of offices ineffectively clean their work space! Ew! As we all know, germs lurk and live EVERYWHERE! You probably think that the most germiest place in your office is the toilet seat. In fact, it’s not!

1. The Break Room Faucet, Microwave and Refrigerator Door Handle

Shocked?  Us, too! We expected this area to be on the list, but not as number one. In a study led by Dr. Charles Gerba, professor of microbiology at University of Arizona, the dirtiest place in an office is the break room. In a building with more than 3,000 employees, researchers  swabbed 4,800 surfaces and discovered that high levels of bacteria and viruses call the break room home.

2. Desktop

Honestly, how often do you clean your desk? Not often? We didn’t think so and that is why your desktop is number 2 on the dirtiest places in your office list. During the day many employees snack and barely clean up after themselves. In fact when you snack, you ingest bacteria that could live for more than 72 hours. This includes your keyboard, mouse and desk phone. So, please don’t forget to practice good surface and hand hygiene in the office.

3. Vending Machines

Breakroom-Vending Machines

This one is a no brainer. Before you put that snack in your mouth that you just selected out of the vending machine, think about the buttons you pressed. This area harbors one of the highest contamination points around the office. Not even contract cleaners that sanitize common areas are sufficient to keep germs at bay. Look for cleaning products intended to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses (including cold and flu, staph, strep, MRSA, E coli and salmonella) without harmful chemicals. Also, look for alcohol-free hand cleaners that don’t dry or irritate your skin like, CleanSmart.
